3 Tips To Prevent Post Pregnancy Hairfall

Giving birth is a journey of so many physical and mental changes that take place in our body. Wow! we women really are super humans!!

We enjoy fuller and thicker hair during pregnancy but post pregnancy it is quite a different story, which can get stressful. Its not a happy sight to see heavy hair fall after every head wash right!

During pregnancy, the raised levels of estrogen hormone results in luscious fuller hair.  After delivery, these estrogen levels come down to normal, leading to postpartum hair loss. This is known as ‘Telogen Effluvium’ and usually persists for three to six months after delivery.

But worry not! We have you covered. With a little bit of extra effort, you can maintain your gorgeous hair post delivery too..yay, its possible :D

       

  1. Good Old -Hair Oil Massage : Use luke warm oil to gently massage your hair once or twice a week to strengthen your strands and feel relaxed. You can follow this up by wrapping a hot wet towel over your head for no more than five minutes for better nourishment and wash it off later with a natural shampoo. This routine will provide great results as it is an ancient Indian home remedy for hair growth.

          

2. DIY Hair Mask :  It is easy to make and are an excellent remedy for hair fall

  • Avocado hair mask: Take a ripe and mashed Avocado and add a tablespoon of coconut milk to it. Apply on the scalp and leave it to dry. Wash it off with a natural hair shampoo.

        

  • Wheat flour hair mask :  It has proteins promoting hair growth.
    Mix 3 tablespoons of wheat flour with 2 tablespoons of milk and 2 tablespoons of yogurt. Apply it onto your hair. Leave it for 15 mins
    Rinse hair with lukewarm water.

3. Proper & Regular Trimming : Shorten your hair a few inches so it can easily be styled.  Since you'd be busy with the baby a shorter hair length will be more manageable. Regular hair trimming also prevents split end formation and hair breakage.
